Hot Plate & Stirrers

HOT PLATE & STIRRERS
Hot plates and magnetic stirrers are the workhorses of the lab, often combined into a single Hot Plate Stirrer to simultaneously heat and mix solutions.
Key Surface Materials :
The plate material dictates how the unit performs and what it can handle:
- Ceramic: Best for high-temperature stability (up to 500°C+) and chemical resistance. However, it is prone to thermal shock and has less uniform heat distribution.
- Aluminum: Heats up very quickly and provides excellent edge-to-edge uniformity. It is more durable but can be corroded by strong acids.
- Stainless Steel: Often used for lower temperature applications or where cleanroom standards are required.
