SHAKERS & ROCKERS

Laboratory shakers and Rockers are essential for agitating samples, with shakers typically providing more vigorous 2D circular or linear motion and rockers offering a gentler, 3D or “see-saw” tilting motion

 

  • Orbital Shakers: Move in a horizontal circular motion, ideal for aerating cultures and mixing viscous samples.
  • Reciprocating Shakers: Provide a back-and-forth linear motion, which is more aggressive than orbital shaking and suited for vigorous extractions.

Laboratory Rockers

Rockers are preferred for delicate samples that require low-impact mixing, such as gel staining and Western blotting.
