Flowmeter & Turbidity Meter

FLOW METER                                       TURBIDITY METER

Flow meters and turbidity meters are essential for fluid analysis, with flowmeters measuring the rate of liquid or gas movement and turbidity meters assessing the clarity or cloudiness of a liquid caused by suspended particles.

Flowmeter Technologies

Flowmeters are selected based on the fluid’s properties (viscosity, conductivity) and the required measurement type (volumetric vs. mass).

  • Electromagnetic Flowmeters: Ideal for conductive liquids like water, wastewater, and acids. They have no moving parts, making them resistant to clogging.
  • Ultrasonic Flowmeters: Non-invasive “clamp-on” sensors that use sound waves to measure flow without cutting pipes; perfect for clean liquids and sanitary processes.
  • Variable Area Flowmeters (Rotameters): A cost-effective, mechanical option using a floating element in a tapered tube for direct visual reading.
  • Coriolis Mass Flowmeters: Provide the highest accuracy by directly measuring mass flow, density, and temperature, independent of fluid property changes.
